    1. Easy to read & nice pictures. Places you could get to close by and on a weekend trip.Bought this for my 2nd daughter when she was 11, now she has passed it on to my son (he will be 11 this week). He quickly read through most of it and pulled the stickers out to mark the places we've been to.

    2. Although I didn't get to I would have loved to go to all these places parents seriously try and get your kids to some of these places before they're 12!

    3. LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! Most books like this want you to go see specific places that most likely will cost you an arm and a leg to get there. Not so this one. i.e. first thing on the list is to see A LIGHTHOUSE. Not the most famous one, or the tallest one, or the prettiest one - No, the one you're coming across on your next trip, or the one just a half an hour away from home. Well, you get it.Other examples: a place where they make cool stuff = a factory or a little shop where something neat is [...]

    4. A good idea for the adventurous and the not-so-adventurous. Instead of specific places to go that may be out of reach for many families, this book provides ideas of places to investigate. While the author provides suggestions, you can be creative and make a scavenger hunt in your own community. The lack of s place to record your trips and the few stickers this book comes with makes this one to look for in a library or used book store.

    5. I bought this for my daughter when she was 12, and we've had so much fun looking through it over and over, for all the fun places to go. You really dont have to travel far to do most of them. There are terrific photos, and I love the reference in the back with web addresses and info. on places to go. I plan to purchase several more as gifts for nieces/nephews! I use it as a sort of "bucket list" for myself as well!

    6. We are starting this in 2008 with our boys. It has places like a lighthouse, an atrist's studio, a Space Place, etc. Things that you mostly can see close to home and some you may have to travel to see. Lots of fun looking through it and seeing at what we have already seen as a family - and making plans for our future!

    7. I like how this book doesn't list things that may be inaccessible to kids (Versailles, Great Pyramids), but intstead lists things they can find close to home (a factory, an artist's studio, a lighthouse), to check off their list and journal about. Includes tons of web sites for how to find such places around you. Fabulous gift book for a kid!

    8. This is a great book. My children created a wish list and picked out which activities they wanted to do. We homeschool, so we used it as a field trip guide. It's full of great ideas with links or information about how to find these places. The stickers and pictures make it child-friendly. Having a space to write about adventures is nice, too.

    9. This book is only 9.99 and worth it. So cute and realistic with ideas like "a factory" "a national park" instead of others that say walk great wall, not too realistic for a kid, but these are so fun with room for journaling their experiences. I highly recommend this to any parent.

    10. This is a glossy book with gorgeous photos. As another reviewer noted, it mostly describes categories of places (e.g "a lighthouse") rather than specific places, which expands the sense of possibility. This book was quickly snapped up from my Little Free Library.

    11. this was OK. It gave us lost of ideas. It stays general in it's approach which is good because it makes the places accessible to more people, but it's lack of specificity also make the places seem obvious. This book is a good idea generator and could help if you are in a rut with ideas

    12. If you have kids, this is a fun book to help guide your weekend and/or summer plans -- Full of great suggestions and enjoyable for the entire family!

    13. G got this as a birthday present and it is awesome!!!! We're already making plans to visit a lighthouse in San Diego!

    14. This book is great fun! You can check off the places you've been and it is fun to plan family outtings based on places you haven't seen.

    15. Serves as a helpful reminder of all the neat/fun places to visit. Has some unorthodox suggestions which were refreshingly interesting and low or no cost.
