    1. Dull, boring, and formulaic - three words I would use to describe the story. Even though it features three different couples and you get three romances for the price of one so to speak, none of them made impression on me. There were not really bad but not good either, just humdrum. All three were annoyingly paint-by -the numbers predictable. There are probably three checklists somewhere and the author was using them to check off the items. While reading romance, I don’t expect a masterpiece but [...]

    2. Yazarı ilk defa okuyorumÇok sevimli bir hikaye idi.Okurken elimden bırakamadımÜç genç kadının hikayesi idi

    3. The book consists of three intertwined stories. The backdrop is a wedding of a duke's sister on a country estate. A lot of people (including matrimony hungry bridesmaids) came. And six of them went home much happier.******The first story is about a poor widowed countess, who out of desperation agrees to play a fiancee to a duke (so that she could intervene if a bridesmaid tries to trap the duke), while of course being his mistress as well. The story was interesting, and I liked the duke, even tho [...]

    5. GENRE: Adult - Historical RomanceFORM: Book - ARCREVIEW: In a book of new beginnings, rekindled love, new love and a lot of passion, Leigh Michaels gives you the ultimate romance novel topped with three cherries! I enjoyed The Wedding Affair from beginning to end. The characters were very well developed and entertaining, each having individual personalities but are so great that you fall in love with them all. I love books about weddings, and while many historical romance novels end in a wedding [...]

    6. THE WEDDING AFFAIR is a triple treat of Regency pageantry, romance, and humor. The main event – Lady Daphne’s wedding at her family’s estate – wreaks havoc on her family, the staff, the village, and even the guests.Daphne’s mother, the Dowager Duchess of Somervale, invited the 12 bridesmaids for an extended visit to the ducal estate before the wedding. Her unwed son, Simon, the Duke of Somervale, suspects matchmaking will be a side activity for both his mother and the bridesmaids. So h [...]

    7. Originally posted at: longandshortreviews.cA young woman in need of a future, a widow hiding from her past and a Lady who is a wife in name only: All three will have to prove they have the courage to take their destinies in hand. Their reward will be worth far more than silver and gold but the risk to their hearts may be just as pricey. If a theme could be set for the first trilogy by Leigh Michaels, Just One Season in London, it would be “Sacrifice”. In this new trio of stories that overlap [...]

    8. Simon and Olivia, penny and Charles, and Kate and Andrew. Also lady stone who I thought was in the last book, but wasn't confined until the very end. I suppose she has a romance if her own. The only male character's pov we get is Simon's, which was kind of annoying. I really loved penny and her husband's story line, but would have liked to have been in his head for some of it. Kate's was cute in parts, too. But the main story was pretty generic. I loved the first book in this pairing, and this o [...]

    9. A surprisingly good novel. I don't know why I say that but it could be the ghastly cover (the woman looks like a wax doll), or perhaps that the synopsis on the back is somewhat lacking description. However, when I began reading, I thought this could be really interesting. A wedding party in a grand country house that's packed to the rafters. Although the story is mainly about Simon and Olivia, there are other people with their own individual stories. You can probably guess who ends up with who at [...]

    10. The Wedding Affair is one of three books set in Regency England by author Leigh Michaels, who is best known for writing sweet traditional romances. These three books (the others being The Mistress House and Just One Season in London) are funny and sexy. Each has several related story lines and you don't want to read them unless you can finish the book in an afternoon or evening. They are that much fun. You will not want to put down the Wedding Affair.

    11. I wasn't sure how this book was going to be seeing as how it toggles three different stories. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the author handled it beautifully. All three stories and their characters all connect and work together simultaneously. Very well done.

    12. Three stories woven artfully together, all with equal emphasis. That's quite a feat. I was equally involved in all of them, and the plots and emotional arcs all worked beautifully. A quick read. I finished it in one day.

    15. Leigh Michaels is a new author to me although she has published over eighty books. I don’t know how I have missed her all this time. After reading The Wedding Affair, I will certainly be looking into her backlist. This book actually focuses on three separate romances. I originally thought they would be treated as separate stories in an anthology. However, there is a single storyline with the three relationships interwoven together. The first couple introduced, and to me the primary one, are Lady [...]

    16. This was a thoroughly delightful story packed with action and romance. Three couples all set with their own story lines but entangled like a spider's web. This was great fun trying to guess who is going to compromise whom, when and where. Gotta watch those dark corners and sneaky out of the way places dear Duke!We actually have six characters in this story that are the focus of plenty of to do's. How our author keeps her head on straight is a miracle in itself. First there is the Duke of Somerva [...]

    17. A wedding is a wonderful event. Love is in the air and everyone is happy.Well, not quite. Not if you're the Simon, the Duke of Somervale, whose sister's twelve (twelve!) bridesmaids are on the hunt for a ducal matrimonial prize. What to do? Why, hire the beautiful widow, Lady Olivia Reyne, as your pretend fiancée until after your sister's wedding. Especially after she propositions you. And not if you're Charles, the Earl of Townsend, who married cit's daughter Penelope for her money to save the [...]

    18. Again there are three couples that will find love in this regency romance by Leigh Michaels. And I do like that there is more romance to go around.First we have Olivia who after her husband's death is poor, and living with her daughter in a little cottage. She meets Simon, the Duke of Somervale and the first meeting is not a good one. But then by the look of her he does not think she is a lady either. But he has every young woman in the area after him and he comes up with the perfect plan. These [...]

    19. I have heard wonderful things about Leigh Michaels so when I was offered Just One Season in London to review I decided to chance it. Talk about taking risks paying off. I fell in love with that book and was so excited to be given the opportunity to review The Wedding Affair. While not a 5 star read for me it did solidly place Leigh Michaels in my must read historical romance authors list.I loved all the characters but especially the Duke and Lady Reyne. The chemistry between the two sizzles when [...]

    20. The Wedding Affair by Leigh MichaelsHistorical Romance – Sept. 1st, 20113 1/2 starsThree lovely Regency ladies try to find love.Lady Olivia Reyne is widowed and impoverished, even though her late husband was an earl. Meanwhile, the village is abuzz with Lady Daphne’s wedding, and Olivis finds the Duke of Somervale thrust into her life, all charms and vitality. Forced into a difficult situation, Olivia proposes to be his mistress and ‘bodyguard’ against the horde of marriage minded female [...]

    21. THE WEDDING AFFAIR by Leigh Michaels is an exciting historical romance set in Regency England. It is written with depth, details, characters will capture your heart who are also engaging and full of spunk. The plot is believable, enjoyable with a little humor between characters. While, you are invited to the wedding of the year, you will find that behind the scenes, three heros, three heroines, and three romance stories are taking place. First, three Lady Olivia Reyne, the widow of a earl with a three y [...]

    22. I thought that the same story told from three points of view was going to be needlessly complicated and confusing. To be honest it was for the first few chapters and then I caught on to this author's storytelling style. I really enjoyed this story about three women from different backgrounds but equally helpless in their life choices because historical England left very little for a well-born woman to do to be independent. In fact, they are entirely dependent on the men in their lives; fathers, [...]

    23. It started out great but eventually the story becomes dull. It's about 3 individual, 3 stories intertwined to come up with a bigger story which happens during the upcoming wedding affair. It's kinda fresh for me because this is the first book that I read where 3 stories are joined to come up with one. However it has it's con, because you tend to prefer the story of one while forced to read the story of others. At first it really wasn't that bad, it's just that I want to focus more on the story of [...]

    24. Leigh Michaels special with a three-in-one romance and a LOT going on. This time, it's a Duke who's dealing with his sister's marriage and all of the sister's friends who his mother invited along. He decides that he's going to hire a local widow to pretend to be his fiancee. At the same time, she had taken in the local vicar's daughter and that daughter, Kate, is hired as a companion/chaperone to the girls coming in. Kate's childhood crush, Andrew Carlisle, has been invited to help protect the d [...]

    25. A refreshing change of pace from my two pov regency England reads, Leigh Michaels gave me four! If this were the beginning of my reading career I'd feel overwhelmed maybe more so because my ereader decided to break up the sentences so I had mini paragraphs than my inability to keep up with the storyline. Although neither of the predicaments the characters face are new Ms. Michaels writing style and her shrewd decision to leave us at the edge of our seats just as she switches scenes to a differen [...]

    26. THREE COUPLES!!! I loved this book my only problem is that I can't lose My memory and read it afresh. my favorite character has to be charlotte because she brought my favorite couple the duke and olivia together. it was nice to finally see that penny had a backbone and Andrew wasn't as broke as he let on. fun read, made me laugh and few books can do that. loved the strength in d female characters especially olivia. Have to start paying attention to this author

    27. The Wedding Affair is a delightfully sexy novel with a cast of characters that you just have to love. The entire story circles around the wedding of a debutante although the soon to be bride and groom are not the main characters of the story, in fact the reader never 'meets' the groom. The book was a fast and fun read. Readers of Leigh Michaels will want to add this book to their collection.

    28. Favorite lines:Kate was speechless. The sheer conceit of the man, to think she'd had nothing better to do on any given day than to contemplate where in the world he might be! "The only thing I wonder," she said tartly, "is why no cannibal ever boiled you in your own impertinence. Since none has, the obvious conclusion is that you have never come face to face with one!" --p. 111
