    1. Upanishad - "the Truth of truth". This set of books is endowed with core philosophical thoughts of Indian philosophy. Come to these books again and again as you evolve and gain a better understanding of the ancient wisdom.

    2. Amazing translations of these essential Hindu scriptures, with perhaps excessively detailed notes and exegesis by Nikhilananda, along with wonderful essays by the late swami on Hinduism, its ethics, and other subtopics. It will take you a year at least to read through them, however!

    3. Great translations with full commentary. Swamiji comes from an advaitic understanding, so the commentaries are in keeping with Shankaracharya and are quite enlightening.

    4. I continue to come back to the Upanishads and these volumes are quite wonderful both in translation and in commentary.
