    1. Such a promising beginning. My favorite time period, a book with good, solid, believable characters, a clear Christian message - so why only three stars? Actually would be 3.5 if I could do halves. The ending for me seemed truncated, cut off too soon. Its not that I didn't like the ending, just that there didn't seem to be the attention to detail that there was in the rest of the story. That's too bad because the book was well written and I was hooked from the first few pages. I would read other [...]

    2. I've never read a book in the 1000's during the Crusades. I'm not an expect during that time frame so I can't say how accurate the author was on the historical part but I found it convincing and shocking. The story woven into this time was interesting. I liked Lamech the bestd his sacrifice was touching and amazing. Yet, sadly, there was a big problem. The dialect. The characters sounded like they were modern people thrown into the 1000's. Uses of "Okay" and once a young lady thought of her frie [...]

    3. Mr Nieuwoudt has a gift for storytelling. The message of friendship, love, faith, and sacrifice really touched me.

    4. Good bookThis book is a bit too short, but got the message across! I look forward to this author's next two books!

    5. I liked the idea and the passages detailing battles from the Crusades werent bad, but there were too many basic historical innacuracies for me. Really basic ones like the fact that Leala was able to write, and Lamech's father was a bishop - two things that i thought were highly unlikely for the times unless there was further explanation, which there wasnt. Disappointing.
