    1. Dink is having a rough day, what is one to do when they wake up from naptime in a grumpy mood? This and that go wrong, what else can go wrong, because not even a snack can save the day. What finally turns the tides and brings Dink out of his sour mood? This book covers the sort of things a child can easily to relate to that might be giving them a bad day.

    2. Miss 3 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.I thought it was so-so. We've both got other pirate books that we like better. I did think the toddler tantrum might appeal to some readers.

    3. I give this book a 3 star rating. This story is about Dink. He can't do anything that he usually does. He throws a fit because he barely do anything. But after overcoming his tantrum, he realizes that he can do anything he wants once he figures out the things he can do.Ways to use this in a classroom1) Teach a lesson about not giving up.2) Teach the science behind building a sand castle3) Write about an experience that you may have that you didn't know how to overcome.

    4. Cute pictures and story. Fergus and his pig brother Fink enjoy pirate adventures at the beach. Very funny! Kids will love it. It has been very popular ever since I bought it for my library. Recommended Gr. K-3.

    5. Pig Kahuna Pirates! is another adventure with pig brothers Dink and Fergus, from Jennifer Sattler's previous picture book Pig Kahuna. It tells the story of the brothers playing on the beach, when Dink becomes unhappy. He does not like how cold the water is, and does not want to help his brother build a pirate ship. Fergus lets his little brother do what he wants, but in the end helps Dink to have fun and enjoy being a pirate. The story is a great way to teach children about temper tantrums. Dirk [...]

    6. Dink wakes up from his nap on the beach grumpy and out of sorts. His brother Fergus works to lift him from his doldrums by creating a pirate ship that sparks their imagination. Bright and colorful illustrations capture the mood of the story and convey it to the reader in a humorous manner. The large print and short sentences makes for easy reading. The young audience will be able to relate to the frustrations of being helplessly grumpy. This is a great story about sibling relationships that will [...]

    7. As with the first Pig Kahuna book - this one doesn't disappoint. This is perfect for a story time or a one on one. I used this for a kids story time ages 3-5. I had previously read the original Pig Kahuna and the children loved this one just as much. I recommend this for libraries, classrooms and anyone looking to buy a great book for a child. Perfect for girls or boys. Believe it or not there are plenty of little girls who love pirates.LOVE IT! I already purchased Pig Kahuna and Pig Kahuna Who' [...]

    8. I think I like this better than the first. Realistic in the sense that Dink is just like a toddler. And things don't always go well at the beach. This book was one big smile. I think I will try it in storytime and see how it goes!1/14/15 Used in brothers & sisters theme. They may not have gotten the humor of Dink's bad mood--since it's kind of the age some of them are in. Parents smiled. But they liked seeing the pirate idea and they loved practicing the Stink Eye and saying "argh."

    9. Two brother pigs enjoy a day at the beach. Little brother Dink is in a cranky, crabby, crusty mood. Older brother Fergus tries to cheer him up, but it's not till they find a buried pirate hat that the mood begins to turn into something fun. An uplifting story with cheerful pictures, fit for anyone who needs to be Jolly Rogered out of a bad mood.

    10. Dink and his brother Fergus are having a day of adventure at the shore. well more accuratly Fergus is having a day of adventure while Dink deals with a serious case of the grumpies. Poor Dink, even in the midst of sun, sand and surf one annoyance after another wreaks havoc on his mood. A silly book that kids will LOVE! Pirate piggies, what could be cooler!?

    11. PIG KAHUNA PIRATES is a great book for when you have a little one with a big attitude. Sometimes we all have bad days and this book acknowledges that in a way that will help kids understand that everyone has problems. But the way Fergus helps little brother Dink through his bad day is a great way for children to learn to help and appreciate when others are having an off day.

    12. 3.75 StarsEvery book I have read today has been good but not Exceptional! This book was cute. A great book to discuss temper tantrums, and brothers getting along. It was cute.Don't like saying the name Dinkjust awkward and Fergusn't really roll off the tongue either. But I love that it is on the beach and kids will like the pirate element!

    13. This is a good representation of what can happen when kids are having temper tantrums. The older brother does a great job of finding ways to make his younger brother happy - most of them don't work, but he finally succeeds! The text is simple and accessible for ECE level readers.

    14. PIG KAHUNA PIRATES! isn't quite as magical and special as the original PIG KAHUNA, but it features the loving pig-siblings Fergus and Dink, as well as the beautiful beach paintings of Jennifer Sattler, and those two reasons are enough to earn this 4 stars.

    15. Pig brothers Dink and Fergus love playing at the beach, but when Dink wakes up from his nap in a grumpy mood, Fergus invites Dink to play with his new pirate ship of sand and gives him the starring role as pirate captain.

    16. A very gentle pirate read for the littles. Dink is feeling grumpy while his brother makes a ship out of sand. Fear not! His surliness helps greatly when it is time to pretend to be pirates.

    17. Good lesson for big brothers who sometimes need to give a little more for siblings who are struggling. Then everyone is happy.

    18. I recently bought this book from my child's school book fair. He just so happens to love pigs and pirates so we thought this might be a good book. It is a cute little story.

    19. The preschooler loves this book. I think she relates to the younger sibling being upset at not finding a way to play with the elder.

    20. range of emotion portrayed, the story was ok, but there really wasn't much of message here other than perhaps - hang in there baby.

    21. A tantrum-throwing baby pig on a beach=Not that impressive. He only quits when he can become a pirate with his older brother, hmmmmmm. Strange to say the VERY least.
