    1. Emily and the Strangers is a very enjoyable comics. Emily and the Strangers are very strange and different people. It was really nice reading about such different characters. Also, there are a lot of cats in this book. The illustrations were amazing! I love, love, love the artwork done in this comics! They were fantastic! The story was fun and amusing to read.Emily the Strange seemed like the rock-goth type and she was very fun and sarcastic. I really love how weird she was, sometimes. She has a [...]

    2. La única forma en que puedo definir este libro es como: "Awesome".Los gráficos tan trabajados, la historia, los gatos perfecto.

    3. "My mind is a terrible thing to waste. Which is why I cram it with odds, ends and all the best kind of brain junk."I have always loved Emily the Strange. I remember back when I was in elementary school I would go to Spencer's to buy Emily the Strange t-shirts, I'm even 99% that I had a couple of books but I can't seem to find them.Three reasons why I love Emily: One, she's strange (just like me) and strange things are basically normal in her world. Two, she has cats. Three, pretty self-explanato [...]

    4. Received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.I love comics, so I had to try this one, especially since I am curious about this Emily the Strange character. I heard quite a lot about her and saw her various things in the stores here. I believe at one time I even had an agenda with her on it.Emily's inventions are all fun and brilliant to see, and how much they failed (though I would blame that cat for most of that). :) Loved how dedicated she was to get that guitar. I won't [...]

    5. I have to admit, this is the first graphic novel/comic that I've read of Emily the Strange. I am familiar with her and love her style, and own quite a few clothing pieces with her on it. I'm one of the "strange" ones out there, pale with a love of solitude and dark clothes, and therefore am definitely in the target audience for these books.I really just adore her as a character. She's not afraid to be herself and be different, and that's a trait that's admirable no matter your age or style. In t [...]

    6. You can also find this review on my blog: liisadventuresinbooklandsI've read comics from 'Emily The Strange' a few years back and I must say that I absolutely loved them. This comic on the other hand was different from what I've read since it gave Emily a test work with others. It was really funny to see her try to work with other people and not be in control all the time.As I have said before I read some of the 'old' Emily The Strange comics and I noticed that the art in this comic was a bit dif [...]

    7. Received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This one was ehhok. Emily invents stuff, totally cool, owns a ton of cats and one is named Sabbath. Emily records a song for a contest on the radio and is bummed out when she doesn't make it in time, but a sneaky little kitty gets her tape to the station. A week later she hears her song on the radio and dashes to the studio to claim her prize, a one of a kind guitar. But, this guitar comes with deal, Evan Stranger, she can only g [...]

    8. Netgalley Synopsis: In order to win a legendary haunted guitar, Emily is determined to create the most rockin' song the world has ever known! But can she do it solo? Emily isn't known for playing well with others, but she's going to have to rely on the help of some strangers if she's going to succeed on her musical journey to the true heart of rock 'n' roll! Emily the Strange creator Rob Reger teams up with co-writer Mariah Huehner (True Blood, Angel) and artist Emily Ivie (The Locked Maze, Rots [...]

    9. I must say I missed Emily and her adorable, lovable strangeness. Reading this comic made me want to go back and read the third and fourth book as soon as possible, but that's an entirely different story and you're here to read the "Emily and the Strangers" comic's review I suppose. So without further ado, the plot in one sentence: Emily is trying to create her best rock song to win the haunted guitar of legendary Proffessa Kraken. I know, it sounds epic. And it is!The first thing that I noticed w [...]

    10. I hadn't read an Emily the Strange comic in years, since The Lost Days circa 2009, to be precise about it. I think what used to appeal to me the most about Emily and her world were two things: she was an outsider like me, and man was that chick mired in Gothic stuff! I absolutely loved her cats, her laboratory, all the crazy inventions and the sense of a mystery solved at the end of that particular story. I guess I outgrew this particular character, which makes me sort of sad. But there were som [...]

    11. I got this review copy from Netgalley. This is my first Emily Strange comic to read. I have seen the merchandise at toy stores and online before but I failed to realize it was a comic book series. In this one Emily wants to win a guitar that belonged to one of her heroes. In order to win she has to play in a band contest with other people. Emily is not someone who works well with others. She finally comes around to working with a band and after a while they start to sound good and actually win the [...]

    12. 5 stars for the art – 3 stars for the plot. This graphic novel contain three previously-published comics, beginning a story about Emily the Strange – musician, inventor and all-around kick-ass chick - having to start a band in order to win a contest.Emily's got an updated look in these new stories, but while I always liked her old look, I love the new one too. She still got the adorably gothic thing going on. And of course - her black cats. As a matter of fact, there are quite a lot of cats. [...]

    13. Emily the Strange is back in a new series from Dark Horse. This time, Emily is determined to win a legendary rock star’s supposedly haunted guitar. In order to do so, she must write an epic rock song for a radio contest. In true Emily the Strange style, she wins the contest, but there’s a catch. She can only keep the guitar if she wins a Battle of the Bands and she must have a band of at least four people to qualify. Enter the Strangers, Emily’s band. Emily doesn’t always play well with [...]

    14. Digital ARC provided by Netgalley.I don’t have much experience in reading graphic novels, my exposure limited to Ghost World and spin-offs from novels, such as Twilight (yes, I know). Obviously, that means that I also don’t have much experience with Emily and the Strangers either so I’m not really familiar with the storyline and background information. With that said, I really enjoyed reading Emily and the Strangers. The illustrations were amazing, with the utmost attention paid to the sma [...]

    15. Win a haunted guitar! The prize is too good to pass on, especially if the only requirement is performing in a battle of the bands. Although Emily prefers the company of cats, she isn't shy and enjoys spending time with others, as long as she can have creative control. But joining a band means letting go and learning how creativity can go even higher when you find others to contribute to the inspiration. The illustrations were beautifully done. I had yet to see a graphic book displayed with so man [...]

    16. I saw Emily and the Strangers at a comic book store and was intrigued. I really like the art, and Emily is goth and reminiscent (in her look) of Wednesday from the Addam's Family. Plus, there were black cats, and I'm a sucker for a story where the cat(s) become a character. The story is pretty straight forward and simple, and Emily does keep having the same issue of adjusting to working with her new band members, but she does have a little bit of growth by the end. What I thought was really inte [...]

    17. I've read 3 of the 4 Emily books, sadly my library is missing the 3rd volume. I really liked them and they make fun fast reads. I picked this title up from NetGalley and I like it a lot. The Comic format is very good for Emily, it takes her back to her roots. She is growing up and she must learn some lessons of life first though and this volume is teaching that you must learn to work with others, something Emily doesn't do very well. Emily is definitely challenged in this book but she stays the [...]

    18. Emily Strange is a character that I could really relate to when I was young! Always curious about things and more eager to spend time alone than with other people! I wasn't a fan of cats but if I had one, it would have been black! Very fun illustrations. I loved the attention to detail and clutter that came with a mind like Emily's. I've always preferred the dark gothic look in illustrations and while this is a bit on the soft side, I found it visually interesting and fun to read. I thought that [...]

    19. I was once a fan of Emily the Stranger, and for the most part I still am, I have just grown away from that part of my life. This is a new titles to reinvigorate the series. Emily now has some help from new friends she reluctantly makes when she has to have a band to win a famous gutair. I liked the reboot, and I can see many girls, and maybe a few guys who I know will love an enjoy this titles and wait for the next in the series.

    20. This is a really cute quick read. It was nice to have a break and read something different like this. All the characters are animated and it's great to go on an adventure with the main character Emily. I would definitely read more of these graphic novels. I can really see people that are into gothic stuff liking this as Emily comes across as a Goth. Overall an enjoyable read =)

    21. Emily is a brilliant character. So getting to read Emily and the Strangers for review was great. The artwork is AMAZING – so much detail and creativeness. The story is a little predictable but fun and Emily’s commentary is entertaining. It’s the beautiful artwork that makes it though, I was sorry when the book ended. Looking forward to volume 2.

    22. This is my first Emily the Strange graphic novel and I'm addicted!!!She is so spunky and bad-ass, and her personality is so awesome. Her inventions and her cats make her just a little bit more "strange" but that's her allure. Can't wait to read more.
