    About "Joe Humphrey"

    1. Joe Humphrey

Joe Humphrey grew up on an air force base in Southern California George AFB, just outside of Victorville It s mostly abandoned now and super creepy if you re up for some urban exploring and now lives in Victoria, BC, Canada with his wife, Sandra.Bloodletting is a story he s been developing for well over fifteen years, originally as a screenplay that eventually became too big to contain in one movie, so he restructured it and rewrote it from the ground up as a book The idea to serialize the sections came when he realized that the book was naturally falling into self contained stories that crossed over and intersected This was inspired partially by the show Lost, where every episode would focus on a different character, covering both their backstory and how that history informs the way they respond to their current situation He also took inspiration from George R.R Martin s Song of Fire and Ice books and Stephen King s epic opus The Stand, both of which feature a similar character focused chapter styles.Joe is also someone who feels incredibly uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person, but here we are Like so many things Joe does, it s awkward and a struggle to get through, but ultimately worth it So let s just stop pretending we don t know it s me writing this We re better than this I trust you. There s a lot of story on deck, and hopefully people will be interested in these characters and their plight enough to stick with them to the end Unlike Lost, I actually do have a pretty good idea what s actually going on, so don t worry about that These characters are near and dear to my heart, and it really bums me out to have to kill some of them off in terrible, violent ways, but it s worth it if people enjoy it, that s a sacrifice I m willing to make And honestly, there s also some characters that are really awful and I m than happy to send them off in a spray of blood and bone with a stupid, surprised look on their face.Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope we can keep this going to the end I m up for it.Joe
