    1. This story is, without doubt, the CUTEST PIRATE BOOK - EVER!It's up to striped, bewhiskered Mabel to defend her pal's hosiery-sprouting trees from dastardly, sock-thieving pirates. Great story, fun rhymes, a cute kitty and SWOON-WORTHY ARTWORK combine to make this one a winner

    2. My daughter asked me to read another book about Mabel the cat. This was more fun than the dragon. I love the idea of trees growing socks. It's nice and silly. I will def read more of these books to my kids.

    3. Fun picture bookIt's a super cute story, and the illustrations are top notch. All three of my kids love it! I totally recommend it.

    4. Mabel is your typical farm cat but the farm is not just any old farm. The farm has some very special trees that are unlike any tree you have ever seen before. One day pirates sail by and decide to steal from the farm. So Mabel decides she. must defend her precious trees and their uhh "unusual" fruit. This book is great. It teaches children that you must stand up for what you know is right and not allow people to steal. This book would be great in a first grade classroom or even bible classrooms [...]

    5. This book was a quick and fun story to read to my 4 year old daughter as a bedtime story. The story was quirky and silly, but very interesting and entertaining. My daughter loved this book and was just as excited to read the sequel. I enjoyed that the main character is a cat and she is protective and willing to stand up to pirates.

    6. I absolutely loved this wonderful rhyming book about a cat who lived on a farm. On this special farm they had a tree that grew all types of socks. One night a group of pirates tried to steal the sock. But, Mabel the cat had other plan for the pirates.

    7. Great rhymingChildren will love this book. Our unlikely hero is forced into the role of "sock protector" and learns that perceptions are her greatest ally. The rhythm and rhyming of the author's style also makes the story very listenable from beginning to end. Enjoy!

    8. Awesome illustrationFun New words, great pictures and lots of fun to reqd together. One of my sons favorite books. Love it!

    9. Recommend this. I’d buy it.Great story and the artwork is nice. My daughter enjoyed it and I did too. Even though it was free, I’d buy it.

    10. I love this adorable book. It’s fun and the illustrations are amazing, very bright and colorful. And enjoyable for kids of all ages.

    11. Fun & cute"Pictures are cute" says our 5 year old. "And I too enjoyed the illustrations, flow & rhymes" says the mom.

    12. Charming funA beautiful fun book with gorgeous illustration, my daughter loved the pirates and I did too. Rhyming fun for everyone.

    14. This was cute, so creative, so new, and with lovely rhymes. Thanks ET for producing quality stuff for our kids, keep going!

    15. Fab!Absolutely brilliant book. Told in the best story traditionrhyme. My grandson loves it, and I'm sure it will become a fast favourite with other little ones.

    16. Two thumbs upOne out one four year olds agreed, " this is a good story papa." And papa liked it to. Engaging word usage and nice art work

    17. This book has a really nice flow to it, with a rhythm that is easy to find and rhymes that are spot on without distracting from the story being told. The illustrations are super cute, with a whimsical style and gorgeous, rich colors. There are a few words in it that are longer and hard to sound out (like flourished and marvelous), and one word that has a British English spelling (chequered), but for the most part the vocabulary of the book is within the reach of a reader who is confident in his [...]

    18. A Whimsical Adventure of a Courageous KittenThis is a well crafted book. The vocabulary will expand your child's knowledge of words. The words are placed is a context, with rhythm, and pictures that immediately imply they're meaning. The illustrations and rhyme draw you into an adventure of valiant kitten defending his farmer's livelihood. This is a great bedtime book for younger children. But best of all, the story is fun. It makes you smile. Especially if you're an older child.

    19. It's an adorable book, but 2 typos (misspelling of "dastardly" as "darstadly" and a "let's" missing the apostrophe) and an occasionally excessive use of exclamation points detracted a bit from the experience for me. Still, it's a whimsical story with well-done illustrations that kids are sure to enjoy.

    20. So with itI thought this book was absolutely adorable, I read it over and over to my grandson and he gets very animated over it. I found it to be a very cute read, the rhythm was so soothing. I recommend this book to all those Grammie's out their who live to read to their grandkids.

    21. DelightfulMabel and the Sock. pirates by Elwyn Tate is absolutely delightful. Clever rhyming and colorful pictures kept .y two and a half year old grandson interested from beginning to end.

    22. Quirky funI really enjoyed this little book. Farmer Bill and his cat Mabel live on a farm. Their favorite crop is the socks that grow on trees! Why do socks grow on trees? I have no idea, but it was funny. The cat is adorable too.

    23. Love Mabel My daughter absolutely loved this one. I did too. And yes there were some big words in there but I was happy to explain what they meant. Vocabulary building at it's best.

    24. Very cute and funGot this for my 6 year old and he loves it. The story is very cute with good rhyming and lovely artwork. My son loves some of the fun words in it like "dastardly" and he's learning to read them now.

    25. I love this book. It works so well as a digital/ebook. It is gender neutral which I like too, and has a wonderful sense of adventure. The artwork is good, the rhyming is good.I wish it was available as hard copy so I could gift it to other people.

    26. Great book to teach about schemaAdorable illustrations with fun typography. The book contains some of the unique words your child may ponder and ask you for the meanings. Also, this was a fun turn out to learn about the schema in the book.

    27. I really, really liked this book. First off the illustrations are adorable and second I enjoyed that the kitty saved the day. The rhyming was fun and the story was excellent. I'm sure this will become a favourite.

    28. I read this loads to my son. I love both the way it rhymes and flows, in addition to just being an entertaining story.I have gone so far as to actively recommended this to friends (mostly those with kids).

    29. All of Elwyn Tate's books are great reads with terrific illustrations. My grandsons who are 3 and 5 years old love these books. They are also very reasonably price. We are anxiously awaiting the third dinosaur book, My Allosaur Has Lost His Roar.
