    1. I think this story had the potential to be really good, but it felt flat. The characters weren't that likable or interesting, and the story never became very gripping. I would have liked to see more of the characters powers' other than the occasional sparkle. And the main character, Melody, needed to be stronger. She was pretty much whiny throughout the book and very tempermental. I think the book ends right where it starts getting interesting--it could have really taken off from there.

    2. This was a pretty good story, and kept me intrigued.but it seemed like it took a long time to really get going. I do have to say that I think it could have used a bit more editing. There were several errors which took away from the overall book. I'm guessing that the second book will be even better now that the author has gotten the first one under her belt.

    3. This book started off with a fun perspective about a Goth girl with some heavy secrets that she is keeping from everyone. The cute guys, Salt and Pepper, had a lot of potential as well. I don't think the same quality remained toward the end of the book, and I didn't relate to the final twist. I can't believe that someone would willingly do what she did at the end--love or no love. Regardless, I give this book a 3 because it started strong, and because I think the author has an original take on t [...]

    4. I loved this book. Wonderfully new storyline with rich strong characters like Melody Hawthorne who you can root for and want to see them succeed. Jamie Brook Thompson has one other book out called Jayne Doe and she's got another coming out soon called Beneath that looks very promising. I can't wait to read it;)

    5. This is a book that keeps your attention and keeps you wondering what will happen next. Your constantly learning new little tidbits about each character that you don't expect and I can see how every teenage girl can relate to this book. Very entertaining book that kept my attention all the way through and would love to read the next one!

    6. This was a fun, fast read. The plot is entirely fresh and super cool! I thought the main character, Melody, had a uniquely real voice; I really enjoyed her honesty and her sense of humor. I cannot wait for the next in the series!

    7. Enchantingthis book grabs you from the start as you feel bad for all the pain she feels. but getting to her grandparents is a chance for healing, and love, and new friends ( if that is what you, want to call them) you will love this book

    8. It wasn't interesting enough for me, had to force myself to finish the book. Not enough action & characters weren't well developed.
