    1. Very intriguing! As you begin to read this book, you feel that the story is heading in one direction and then all of a sudden the story changes. I love that it is not predictable from the very beginning. When Dr. Holcomb arrives in Portland, he is unaware that his life will become a wild adventure. Dr. Holcomb is forced to move away from his current living situation and start anew due to his impulsive behavior. He befriends a dog at a barbershop upon arrival and his own beliefs betrayed him. At [...]

    2. This book fascinated and intrigued me to the very end. When I began I wasn’t quite sure where it was going. We jumped through Brent’s past and what shaped him really fast. The beginning though truly hooks you.Brent seems to be lost and trying to find his way. He wanted something in his world that would fulfill him. Medicine did this. he took solace in it. He was a caring and good guy but his judgement wasn’t always as it should be. He seemed to find danger and trouble at every turn. What le [...]

    3. Reviewed for Reader's FavoriteA Leafy Green World by Sean Dow is a riveting story about a doctor who loses his loved ones and is trying to find new meaning in his life. When Dr. Brent Holcomb loses his wife and child in a car accident, he discovers something that adds salt to his wound, so to speak. Moving to Portland to start anew, he finds himself in a state of agitation, unhappy with his colleagues, and feeling completely like an outsider in his new job. The doctor had an unusual childhood an [...]

    4. Reviewed on behalf of Readers' Favorite:A Leafy Green World by Sean Dow is a thrilling novel about Dr. Brent Holcomb and his involvement in an eco-terrorist organization. After his pregnant wife and young daughter are killed by a drunk driver, Brent finds himself in a downward slump, unable to hold down a job. Seeking out his wealthy mother’s help, Brent moves to Portland, gaining a fast-paced position in a hospital. He seems to have everything he’s ever wanted, including a chance at love ag [...]

    5. I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! Sean Dow does a magnificent job of pulling the reader along for the ride of the story's hero, Brent Holcomb, as he tries to adjust to what might possibly be his last chance to be a doctor. I sympathized with Brent for the loss of his wife and daughter, as well as his estrangement from his mother. The path Brent takes with Bill, Spike, Robyn, et al, in their crusade for an animal & environment controlled world was interesting, to say the l [...]

    6. I enjoyed this book. Realistically, when I started reading, I thought this book was going to go somewhere completely different than where it did. After the horrible loss of his family, Dr. Holcomb (Brent), can't hold down an job and is just unhappy. I felt so sorry for him and the author did a great job at making him seem like a real person. Being completely down, it made me just want to root for him to find happiness again. After moving to Portland, and through a series of events, Brent finds hi [...]

    7. This is one of those books that sets the hook early. You keep wondering where this is going or what is going to happen next. In the beginning, Brent had lost his wife and daughter and was in a negative state of mind with really no direction. Things began to change for the good when he moved to Portland. He found a real doctor job and was back in the medical profession and making some real money. His attempt to expand his circle of friends led him into unexpected situations. Using his knowledge a [...]

    8. In A Leafy Green World, Brent’s personal and professional is falling apart, and the seemingly self destructive path he has fallen on becomes something far more deadly. After becoming more and more disillusioned with the world, Brent joins in with what seems like a fairly harmless activist group, but this takes a very dangerous turn when he finds himself working with a group that is plotting deadly terrorist acts. Now Brent has to figure out how to stay safe as well as stop the group’s machin [...]

    9. Hold on! Moves at breakneck speed! In the trend started by, "Debridement", the tone of this novel moved very fast! Quite an excellent and well executed story. This novel stretched to cover a number of the fears we as Americans face. His complex story covered a lot of ground, however, it was all tied together quite nicely by the main character. This was an excellent book, especially for only a second novel. It appears to be self published, which for its content is surprising -- I've read books by [...]

    10. Really good one! I especially liked the character of the sarcastic doctor. The beginning and the end were great, the rest were kind of slow for my taste, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And I was surprised by the all eco-terrorists and eco-wackos situation which was a bit strange but in a good way.

    11. I received this book via a giveaway. The book description promised action and intrigue, and the author delivered both. Our protagonist Brent Holcomb, a young doctor who has had his share of ups and downs in life, is currently at his lowest point. Brent moves to Portland to try to start over after a disastrous marriage ended by a tragic accident. He uses the last of his funds to rent a cheap apartment and buy a used junker before starting a new job at a local hospital. His goal is to do good for [...]
