    1. Opening and managing a neighborhood coffee shop sounds relatively simple: after all, it's a limited product line with predictable customer hours - what could be challenging about getting involved in such a business? The realities simmer here, though, and the result is compelling in Brewing Beneath the Perk: My Journey Through a Coffee Shop Business…to Me, a blend of autobiography, business, and barista encounters that will delight any coffee fan who dreams of owning their own such establishment [...]

    2. I received this wonderful book through a " giveaway." I really enjoyed it. Teri Meehan tells her story of being an entrepreneur. It is a special soul that is willing to take the chance and put it all out there for others to have a place to congregate and enjoy good coffee, good conversation and all else that goes on in a neighborhood coffee shop. She has created a special spot in the universe that people don't realize they need. In the process Teri faces all those many things that attempt to blo [...]

    3. This book is about the author's personal journey through her own coffee shop business . Teri Meehan, with her partner, creates a warm, intimate business that becomes the anchor of a Denver neighborhood; thus the name Wash Perk. Teri's journey also becomes a personal one in which she , along with her creation, learns to understand herself better .I loved reading this book and hope that I can visit Wash Perk one day, should I travel to Denver.

    4. This is a brave, candid book about the trials--inner and outer--of creating and growing a neighborhood coffee shop in Denver. The writing is pretty strong, free from cliches, but the book sometimes slides into therapeutic journaling that might have been better kept private. For sure, reading this book made me eager to check out Wash Perk for some good coffee and a chance to experience the thriving store created by the author and her partner.
