    1. Shandra Higheagle is digging up clay for her artwork when she uncovers the boot and then leg of a long-buried body in Tarnished Remains by Paty Jager. Calling her friend, Detective Ryan Greer, Shandra is happy to reconnect with the man with whom she had felt a connection in her previous encounter with the law. The archaeologists called in to dig up the body determine that the body is that of Johnny, the former boyfriend of Shandra’s employee, known to all around as “Crazy Lil.” She thought [...]

    2. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.I really enjoyed this murder mystery, the second in the Shandra Higheagle series. It was plausible, as Shandra discovers a body while digging for clay, and it highlighted Shandra’s Native American heritage, which I found really interesting. I liked the relationship between Shandra and Detective Ryan Greer, and the flow between book one and book two. It all felt very natural and realistic. The plot wa [...]

    3. In the second in a series with an amateur sleuth, I always look for the plausibility factor, especially in a series that’s realistic and serious, not a humorous cozy. Jager pulls it off well. Artist Shandra Higheagle finds a body when digging clay for her pottery. She doesn’t run into a new murder, but a decades-old cold case, a body hidden in the earth on the remote ranch she purchased long after the death took place. The connections to people she knows and cares about come naturally as wel [...]

    4. While digging up clay for her pottery, Shandra Higheagle digs up a skeleton. She calls detective Ryan Greer so he can come to investigate this discovery. The body turns out to be Shandra’s employee, Lil’s, old boyfriend who went missing decades earlier. Shandra is happy to reconnect with Ryan but she isn’t happy that Lil is his prime suspect. Shandra can’t help but get involved in the investigation. Can the real murder be found after all this time? This is the 2nd book but my first experi [...]

    5. This is the 2nd book in this series about a potter with Native American ancestry. Shandra is digging for clay to make her famous pots when she comes across a body which looks like it's been covered for many years. It turns out its something to do with her strange but fiercely loyal employee, Lil. Shandra contacts Detective Ryan Greer, whom she met in the 1st book, they are in the very early stages of a relationship having met when she found another body a few months before! The body she found on [...]

    6. Good read when life is complicated and you just need a lite story to curl up and destress withad thete are more to read.

    7. I thoroughly enjoyed Tarnished Remains. This book is the perfect length for me, not too short, not too long. This story is a murder mystery set in Idaho on Shandra Higheagle’s farm. Shandra grew up with little memory of her father who died in an accident when she was a small child. Thanks to her grandmother she grew up understanding her Native American heritage. This is a part of the story I really liked, after her grandmother’s death, her grandmother still visited Shandra in her dreams. Shan [...]

    8. While digging clay on Huckleberry Mountain for her pottery, Shandra Higheagle digs up a bit more than that. At first she find the heel of a boot. Then the boot with a foot in it. When Detective Ryan Greer and Lil get there, Lil has an odd look on her face and says, "It can't be" then races off through the trees. When she comes back, she is more her ol' self again. When the other officers show up the next day to go get the body, Shandra notice that Lil isn't in the barn or tack room.It looks like [...]

    9. Potter and artist, Shandra Higheagle finds a body while digging native clay for her work. A rodeo belt buckle helps identify the body that has lain in the ground for thirty years. With the help of Det. Greer, the story of love and greed that lead to murder is solved.
