    1. This book was an absolute beautiful and emotional story about friendships and family, I loved Jules as the main character, I felt like I really connected with her, from her insecurities to her love of food, it was a great story to read.I only really had one problem with this story, which was the romance, I was a little disappointed to say the least, I just felt like the idea of the growing relationship and romance with Jules and Luke was a little crushing and unexpected in my case at the end. Ma [...]

    2. ***Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a complimentary copy of RELATIVE STRANGERS in exchange for my honest review.***Paula Garner is one of those writers whose realistic young adult fiction is guaranteed to be unique, brave and worthy of multiple reads, so I was excited to score an ARC of RELATIVE STRANGERS.Jules’ honest, heart-felt narration had me following her quest for answers from page one. Always on the outs, she partially resented her single mom for not giving her the life like her be [...]

    3. RELATIVE STRANGERS is a gorgeous meditation on the complicated nature of family and how we’re shaped by our past, our memories, loss, and love. When Jules makes an unexpected discovery about her early life, she goes on a painful, but ultimately rewarding journey of self-discovery. Her character felt so achingly real, as did her mistakes. Oh god, she made some TERRIBLE decisions, but I TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD WHY, you know?? This book is full of very true, very emotional moments - the revelations Ju [...]

    4. When I was accepted to review this book on Netgalley I honestly was not sure what to expect exactly. I knew it was about a girl who finds out that she had a foster family for a little while when she was younger, but that was it. Honestly, though this book ended up being so much more than that. I got to see into these character's world and develop emotion based on their lives. I wanted to know more about all of the characters and what would happen to them. I was so sad to see that the book ended [...]

    5. A coming of age story with the perfect blend of sadness, longing, love and hope. Relative Strangers gives the reader a bit of everything. Jules just needs a baby picture for her high school’s yearbook as she prepares to graduate. She doesn’t understand why her single-mother continues to drag her feet on providing her one. Jules has always been aware of the lack of pictures her mother has laying around, but then again her mother travels light, preferring to rid herself of any material items d [...]

    6. This story begins with an 18-year old girl named Jules looking for a baby picture for inclusion in her high school yearbook. What she finds in a box in her mother's closet is paperwork about her stay in foster care as a baby when she was put into care due to her single mother's addiction. This begins her quest for the family that fostered her and the surprises that await her when she does locate them. She and her mother have been reunited for many years, and their relationship is strained. Durin [...]

    7. I received this book for free through Giveaways and have chosen to give my honest opinion about it.This was definitely a lot better than I imagined! While the plot did seem too thin or uninvolved at times, for the most part the story definitely seemed different than other contemporary novels of the same genre. Jules is definitely an interesting character, and the journey she has to undergo and the heartbreak is something many (including me) can relate with, which is why I found this book to be [...]

    8. I received an E-ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewI was very surprised by this (cleverly-titled) book.Having read the synopsis and the first few chapters, I was sure I knew the direction the story would take. I was wrong.Relative Strangers is a story about family (and all the forms they can take), grief, friendship, and growing up. And it's a damn good one.I cried about 5 times, but some of them were happy tears. Because in the midst of the drama, Relative Strangers offers you s [...]

    9. Oof, right in the feels, and so good. My co-worker handed this to me as she knew I really liked "Phantom Limbs" by the same author, and "Relative Strangers" did not disappoint. I may have even liked it more (though it's been a while so I can't say for sure). Basically, I very much recommend this to anyone who enjoys Robin Benway, but wants even more emotional heart-twists.

    10. Had the honor of reading this early and let me just say, I am a Paula Garner fan for life. More closer to pub!

    11. I am so utterly desperate to read this book already. Phantom Limbs was beyond incredible, beautifully written and deeply moving. I need Paula Garner's next book, I will literally sell away my soul for it!
