    1. Eye opening book as an American to the realization of the extent of the Roman Empire. I never knew to the depth at which Britannia was governed like Rome. I had always thought of it as just an outpost. Very good book and easy to read. Latin names always get jumbled up in memory but the list of names in the back helps a lot. The timeline in the back of the book also helps in establishing the relevance of important dates stated in the text.
