    1. Perfect! The formatting is beautiful, and the editing& proofing are on point. This novella completely transported me away from my physical pain and into the past. How could I feel my own minor issues while submerged in the much harder times Emily and Isaac lived through? This story is beautiful and vivid so very real- feeling. I hope there is more historical romance to come from Conley, as I could never have enough.Life on the farm and during the times seemed very accurately depicted. Continuit [...]

    2. I read this book because I have read other books by this author, this genre is different for Anne Conely but she wrote it so well. She creates a world, everything seemed so real, there was detail but not too much to become boring. It paints the difficulties and fears of living in those times, especially as women, having little control or power compared to soldiers. But you really feel for how difficult times would have been just to survive.Really glad i read it.

    3. I’m not real big on historical genre. Normally feels like my eye is being gouged out with a dull fork. But this however didn’t give me that feeling. It wasn’t all duke and duchess, royal had non stop war. Different spin

    4. Great historical novella! I'm a little picky about historicals, some of them are just the same story- some duke or earl , blah blah. Anne Conley spins a different tale of post wartime, rural life, hard work and unexpected love. I purchased this book because I was intrigued by Emily's story, referenced in the first Book B!tches book, and I LOVE IT. Highly recommended, great job Anne!!

Up the dirt roads come a rag tag bunch of soldiers lexhausted.arving, problem being, they are the enemy. 8. LOVED IT!!! I absolutely love a great historical romance especially during or after war time. This book gave me all the feels and at times made me swoon. Emily never expected her mom to let the Union Soldiers to stay there while they heal and are well enough to return to their homes. Isaacs never thought he would find love ever again. I instantly feel in love with the story. I couldn't put the book down. The story drew me in like I was watching the story unfold. I highly recommend reading this b [...]

    10. This was such a sweet enjoyable read. Once I started reading it, I didn’t want to put the book down. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series from the author. This book was well written – smooth and flowed well. Even though it was a short read, it didn’t feel that way. Anne’s books are refreshing to read because they are different from every other romance book you pick up to read. Even though this is not the normal genre for Anne's book, this is another great read!
