    About "Jane Retzig Anne Day-Jones"

    1. Jane Retzig Anne Day-Jones

Hi, my name is Jane Retzig and I really hope you enjoy my books.I ve been a huge fan of lesbian fiction ever since I discovered that I loved women, and in the 1980 s and 90 s I could regularly be found in Silver Moon and Gay s the Word Bookshops in London, happily working my way through the shelves of lesbian writing there. My first novel Boundaries was published in paperback in 1994 by The Dimsdale Press , a tiny and slightly quirky Lesbian Small Press who also published novels by popular lesbian fiction authors Jane Fletcher and Christina Smythe Everything at Dimsdale was done on a shoe string My launch party consisted of a cup of cappuccino at Bar Italia in Soho, and I frequently ended up carrying huge box loads of books around London on public transport to cut down on distribution costs. It was good fun And over that first year, I was delighted to see Boundaries reach the Lesbian Fiction Bestsellers lists in independent bookstores across the UK My second book, The Legacy , a short novel, was published in 1995 and also sold well Sadly, changes in the economy and book market in the UK meant that many of our much loved independent bookstores closed in the late 90 s, so Dimsdale lost most of their major outlets and reluctantly ceased trading, leaving me without a publisher.Life intervened for me at that point too and I took a fairly prolonged break from writing Then the e book revolution tempted me out of retirement I re issued Boundaries in April 2013 The Photograph October 2013 was my first new book to be published this century which makes me sound really ancient Since then, I ve issued The Full Legacy a full length re write of The Legacy , which I always thought was too short to do full justice to the characters The Wrong Woman inspired by bullying experienced by myself and a group of my close friends And The Retreat , a novel about two best friends who fall in love with the same woman.I m busily working on a new novel at the moment. All my books are now available in kindle, paperback and audio.I think that s just about all for now Except to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who s taken the time to write to me or post reviews It s always great to hear from you I really do value your comments and feedback Thank youAnd Happy Reading Jane janeretzig gmail

    1. 5 STARS!Oh, man. I just wrote a whole review and ate it.Anyway. Loved it! I'm glad I mostly listened the audio book as the narrator, Anne Day-Jones is excellent. I wouldn't have appreciated Saskia's accent if I was reading it on my own. I know because I ended up reading the last view chapters myself. When I can, I listen to audiobooks while at work. So as I was nearing the end, I decided to put down the other thriller I was reading at home and finish reading The Wrong Woman. The characterization [...]

    2. This was an excellent mystery, but a mediocre romance. For most of the book, I was really riveted by the who-done-it. It was clear who DIDN’T commit the murder, but it wasn’t clear who did…r was it clear who was actually murdered! Was the book title “The Wrong Woman” referring to the accused, the victim, or…? So very clever! Here, though, are the flaws. (1) Love. Love after one date. The relationship between Kate and Naz really needed a stronger dose of reality, even for a work of fic [...]

    3. I loved the audio book of 'The Wrong Woman' by Jane Retzig. Shy and seemingly uptight Kate meets Naz while she is running a conference at a Yorkshire Hotel. They seem to be a very unlikely pair but find they are drawn to each other. When Kate's life start to go in a direction neither of them could have predicted Naz has to find a way to help. The writing is so funny at times and the characterisation, even of the minor characters is inspired. The story itself is intriguing and I was hooked. I hig [...]

    4. If you enjoy a bit of mysterious crime sprinkled with romance and not the typical long-legged brunette or blonde, who is undoubtedly the most stunning woman we have ever seen - then you have found your match. The characters are well developed and their motivation is believable. We are shown enough of their past to understand and feel with them. And they are all very different from each other: Kate the uptight but vulnerable trauma therapist, who is deeply traumatised herself; Naz the quirky hospi [...]

    5. Re-read 1/16/17Loved the skillful intrigue the first time. Listened again before diving into the sequel, A Question of Trust: A Lesbian Mystery Romance. Still 5 stars for me.

    6. I recently listented to this audiobook again and I had to adjust my rating from four to five stars. As I know the story and "whodonit" I could concentrate on the characters, their backgrounds, their feelings and the subtle humor.

    7. Romance was so silly, yet sweet, would be just sufficient to fill oh about 25 minutes of my favorite queer series Banana, but the mystery was unexpectedly good. It's always painful to read about bullying and it's horrible consequences. (view spoiler)[Bullies destroyed themselves, so everything is right with the world and girls fall in love after a single date, because of course they do. (hide spoiler)]The main strength of the book are characters and not even the main ones. The narrator was very [...]

    8. If you like crime, romance and a good story - read this. I really enjoy a good English crime novel and this one was no exception. It certainly kept me reading well past bedtime. I loved the characters and their backstories and I especially enjoyed the physiological aspects of the novel. The immediacy of the interplay between childhood trauma and present day mystery worked really well for me, as did the writing style and the settings. I have already purchased another of the author's works and wil [...]

    9. Quite A RideI loved the story. There was some romance and a who done it story. Great combination. First book I have read of this author and I am going to put her on my list to follow.

    10. A page turnerGreat thriller. Interesting insights on the impact of trauma experienced as a child on life as an adult. Characters are interesting and likable. Would read another book from this author.

    11. An easy but interesting read. True love definitely does not run smoothly in this story. A good plot with a twist as to who is the real victim and the real perpetrators.

    12. I really enjoyed The Full Legacy so I got this one as well. Again, there's a well done mystery; I liked the pacing and detail of this story. The author gives just enough and keeps just enough back to keep you wondering what's really going on. I think the romance part was more on the back burner to the mystery and happened more as a feeling vs actual action. The two MC's only meet briefly, Kate the cool, uptight therapist and Naz the easy going hotel employee. Naz falls in love with the Kate like [...]
