    1. I'm really beginning to like Christina McKnight's books. This is the 2nd book in this trilogy and, although, I enjoyed it, I didn't love it like I did Edith's story. This one didn't have the danger factor like the first book did. In this entry we follow Lucianna, another friend of the doomed Tilda. Lucianna has learned to stand up for herself because of her tyrant of a father. So she's very opinionated, headstrong, and doesn't easily trust people. Then we meet Roderick, who has lost his fiancé [...]

    2. The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna by Christina McKnight is an interesting Regency Romance. #2 in "The Undaunted Debutantes", while can be read as a stand alone, I'd suggest reading #1 first, only to get the back story of these ladies. Not necessary to follow this story. Lucianna Constantine, quick-witted, head-strong, independent, determine to prove who murdered her dear friend with the help of her other friends and she writes a column for the notorious Mayfair Confidential, as a columnist she und [...]

    3. What draws me to author Christina McKnight is one trait above all else. She doesn't write victims, she creates heroines. Her female leads are spirited individuals with the brains to fight for themselves instead of playing the damsel in distress. Of course, in the case of Lucianna that proved to be somewhat of a negative trait, because she lead with her heart instead of the facts. A painful tragedy has set her on a course that could prove to be her undoing. The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna is a st [...]

    4. I received this book from net galley for an honest review. Thank you!!This novel was an enjoyable and quick read. It continues from where the first novel in the series ended but involves less mystery than the first book but has the romance. Lucianna Constantine wants to prove Lord Abercorn killed her friend with the assistance of her friends Edith and Ophelia. Luci is a hellion and is a very independent woman for her time. She is also passionate, but due to her father's indiscretions, she believ [...]

    6. I just finished the second book in Christina McKnight’s The Undaunted Debutantes series. Although I did enjoy this book and found it to be a quick read, I have the same issues as with the first book in the series. Things happen way too fast for my liking. I’ll explain more at the end of the review.Lucianna Constantine, daughter of the Marquis of Camden, vows that she will never marry a man like her father. She wants a man that she can trust and who will take care of her without being dictato [...]

    7. One tragic night changed Lady Lucianna Constantine’s life: when her best friend Tilda fell to her death from plummeting down a flight of stairs on her wedding night. Did she fall down the flight of stairs or was she pushed by her new husband the Duke of Abercorn. Now, Luci & her friends Ophelia & Edith dedicate their time watching the man they think is responsible, whilst gathering information to expose other scoundrels posing as gentlemen of honour about London.Quick-witted hellion Lu [...]

    8. This is second book that I have read from this author, and now I can safely say that I have totally become her fan. Having said that I would like mention that I loved The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna a bit less than The Disappearance of Lady Edith, maybe because The Disappearance of Lady Edith had a lot of mystery and I always had a soft corner for anything suspense or mystery but this book didn't have even a little bit of mystery. Now jumping straight to the main characters. I loved both Lucianna [...]

    9. Check out this review and others atTwinsietalkFacebook/TwinsietalkTwitter/TwinsietalkTsu/TwinsietalkNewsletter : eepurl/brwkPv link amzn/2smg2Li I receive this book from the author for an honest review.Oh Luci……You so got side swiped by love that is for sure!! LOL Lucianna was not going to stop searching for a clue against the dastardly man who killed her friend. She will not give up even though Edith is happily engaged and Ophelia is too busy reading then investigation. She will not fail h [...]

    10. This is the second book in the series about three friends, Lady Lucianna, Lady Edith and Lady Ophelia, determined to uncover evidence that their friend, Duchess Tilda Abercorn, was murdered on her wedding night by the Duke of Abercorn. Lucianna knows what she saw and she has no problem vocalizing her opinion about Abercorn or writing about it in the Gazette. While no one believes her about Abercorn, she's determined to expose every misdeed by gentlemen of the ton including the Duke of Montrose, [...]

    11. *I received a copy in exchange for my honest review. The mystery continues! I love that this one picks up from the last one and that the beginning is from Luci's point of view so it adds to the mystery and I still can't figure out everything. The way her father was with everyone was shocking and I wondered if he was involved in anything because he was so cruel. The way they met is one of my favorite scenes because it's very different. I loved they way they got her father to leave her alone and he [...]

    12. Lady Luci continues her quest to bring justice for the death of a dear friend. She is still adamant that she knows the perpetrator and is determined to expose him. Then she becomes acquainted with Roderick Crofton, the Duke of Montrose, whose reputation she destroyed in an article that she wrote about him. Roderick wants revenge against her, and her father wants her married and out of his house. Now there are two suitors for her hand - one of which could be a murder and the other a supposed scou [...]

    13. Lucianna Constantine is a hellion and is on a mission she's fearless and a devoted friend. She witnessed her friends murder and will stop at nothing to bring the murderer to justice. She knows that the "ton" hides secrets and power breeds cruelty she can attest to this first hand her father is one of those men. With the help of her friends Lady Edith and Lady Ophelia they're pretty vocal on tattling their opinions in the Gazette. They're ready to bring down the Duke of Abercorn after the death of [...]

    14. Once again Christina McKnight has done a wonderful job in creating an interesting romance with a bit of a mystery to it. The second book in the series has Lady Lucianna up for grabs as a possible duchess to either Roderick the Duke of Montrose or Francis, the Duke of Abercorn - the very man who she is convinced killed her friend Tilda on her wedding night. As Edith, Luci and Ophelia plot to get the evidence to accuse Abercorn of the murder, the men in their lives Lord Torrington (Edith's fiancee) [...]

    15. The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna is the second in The Undaunted Debutantes trilogy and the story line continues to entertain and draw the reader in. Lady Lucianna and Roderick, the Duke of Montrose meet by chance in a fencing salon but their paths have crossed in the past when Luci and her friends wrote an article for Mayfair Confidential exposing Roderick as a rake cheating on his fiancé. Roderick loses his fiancé and the finances that could have helped him. As the two continue to cross paths, [...]

    16. I appreciated the balanced storytelling in this volume in the Undaunted Debutantes series. Luci has lived life under the thumb of an oppressive and selfish father and we see how it skews her view of men and causes her to jump to conclusions based on incomplete information. The author doesn't let her off the hook easily and we get the opportunity to see her grow through the difficult circumstances that her hoydenish behavior brings to her doorstep. Roderick is the perfect man to challenge her and [...]

    17. Poorly written, rough draftThe problem with ebooks is that newer writers rush out rough drafts. This book could have used an editor to force five more drafts to turn it into a decent book. Way too much telling instead of showing, anachronisms galore, and a weak hero (who is a duke!). There was little chemistry or character development between the H and h. The villain is the father which rarely works well in romance books. The mystery of the H's lost wealth is unsolved. The plot ridiculous. The w [...]

    18. Definite buy buy buy book. While you could take off a star, I could not bring myself to do it! I was engaged with this story. I would of perhaps liked a little more of the mystery! I can say it is well written, wonderful characters and just keeps you wanting more as you travel through the story. I can hardly wait for the next in the series and hope to wind up the mystery! So buy and sit and enjoy it is truly a good read! I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

    19. I loved this book! Second in the series, The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna is a wonderful story of a strong women. Lucia who is brave, outspoken and considered a hellion takes on the ton to avenge her friend's untimely death. Along the way she finds love, much to her father's controlling dismay. I have just found Christina McKnight and truly enjoyed this book. Now I am going to read the rest of the series.

    20. I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. The book is an easy read and appropriate for any age. Lady Lucianna is a very strong willed, independent female who is determined to see that Lord Abercorn pays for deliberately killing his new wife Tilda who was one of her best friends. There is a lot going on in this book which includes her new romance with Lord Montrose. The romance seems to be a minor part in the book.

    21. Adorable storyLady Lucianna along with her friends Edith and Ophelia are trying to fund proof that this duke had murdered their friend on the night of her wedding. They decided to write a column that alerts other young ladies to scoundrels. Her father has betrothed her to this self same duke!

    22. Second book in this series and just as good as the first. I enjoyed reading about Lucianna and Roderick's love story, it was well written and engaging. No resolution to who killed Tilda but a few clues along the way. Look forward to the next in the series.I received an ARC copy of this book from netgalley.

    23. There was only one other series I read that was as bad as this book Sue London. This book is ridiculous on so many levels I don't even know where to begind end this is definitely not ok as a stand alone because it leaves with a million unresolved issues and no satisfaction for reading it. I would've DNFed it if I could've.

    24. I had gotten book 3 in this series and I wanted to read the first ones before I read book 3. In this addition to the series we get to meet Lady Lucianna. The story was intersting and I enjoyed it a great deal. I am glad that Luci found someone to love and would take care of her.

    25. I read this book from an anthologies 'The Desires of a Duke'. I quite enjoyed the banter between Lucianna and Roderick. The pace of this book was quick. But the problems in regard of their friend's death were unsolved. Maybe because this is still book #2 but I'm looking forward to read book #3.

    26. Lady Lucianna  Camden witnessed her friends death on the night of her wedding. Lucy along with her friends Edith and Ophelia are trying to prove the murder. The London Daily Gazette posts tattles the girls have written about men of the ton. Unfortunately things are not always what they seem and  the Duke of Montrose, Roderick Crofton is accused of something he didn't do. What a tangled web Christina McKnight has weaved in the second book of the series. The choice between a murderer and a belie [...]
