Karole lives outside of Philadelphia, PA with her loving husband, exuberant little girl, and smiley little boy She adores YA Romance, because it would be awesome if life in general had a requisite feel good happy ending rule Vices include obscene Haribo gummy consumption, addiction to Starbucks NF vanilla lattes, and tendency to hoard Bath and Body Works 3 wick candles.

    1. I am beyond excited for Karole Cozzo’s next book! It has been a while since I’ve read about sports, and I love how this one features a female athlete. Eve sounds like such a badass, and I can’t wait to read about how she takes down the boys. I have high hopes for The Game Can’t Love You Back, and I am eagerly awaiting its release this spring.

    2. Three Awesome Things About THE GAME CAN'T LOVE YOU BACK1. Badass female lead. Just wait until you meet Eve -- she's strong, smart, loyal, determined, and super athletic. She stares down sexism and intimidation without flinching, and I adore her.  2. Dreamiest male lead. Jamie is a new favorite book boy; he has a reputation for being a player, but he's actually got a heart of gold. He's so sweet to Eve (eventually), and endlessly devoted to his family and his teammates. *swoon*3. Enemies to lov [...]

    3. My feelings for this book are very complicated. On the one hand, it was definitely a good book with great characters, engaging plot, and good build up to romance. But it also had those little issues that kept piling up. Underhanded comments about things being too girly or whatever; being different than them, like they were worse for it. No one actively combatted it either so that was disappointing. Anyway! A review will be up later and hopefully I can actually formulate everything better. 3 star [...]

    4. Eve is the exact kind of fierce heroine I needed in my life this past week. I could read about her annihilating stereotypes and bucking expectations for at least another three books wink wink Karole. :) Be sure to check this one out in May! You won't regret it!

    5. Smart, funny, and sexy! I devoured this glorious book! Eve is one of those characters that you can immediately connect to. Headstrong, passionate, and protective over what matters most in her life - in this case taking pride in being the only girl on the school's baseball team. When she finds herself on the same team as Jamie - a guy she has absolutely no use for - you start to see the other side of that coin where she is stubborn and challenging to a fault. And that is what makes her and Jamie' [...]

    6. Somehow I've read two books about the same thing this year: female athletes in male-dominated sports who fall for one of their teammates. Waiting for a third one for this to become an early trend of the year. Light and breezy read with a cute hate-to-love romance.

    7. I received this eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review. This book will be published May 2018. Being the only girl on the baseball team, Eve is looking forward to her senior year to win the Cy Trophy. But when her school has an unexpected catastrophe happen, her entire school is forced to join the other high school in her town. Which means that the entire class has to join together, and all of the sports now have to be changed from 2 teams to 1, losing half of the team. Eve wanted th [...]

    8. Eve Marshall is the exact type of female protag we need in YA right now. She's fierce, she's smart AF, and she stands up for who she is, unapologetically. In Karole Cozzo's newest book THE GAME CAN'T LOVE YOU BACK, we not only get a strong-willed, independent female, we also get a sensitive male willing to actually take a step back. These two aren't the most endearing in the beginning, but Cozzo, once again, artfully takes seemingly unlikable characters and makes the reader fall in love with the [...]

    9. Eve is the starting pitcher on her school's baseball team and she has one goal be the best pitcher she can be. When a freak accident closes her high school, she must head to the other high school in town, the school with starting ace pitcher, Jamie. As the season goes on, the tensions run high between Eve and Jamie, so does the attraction. Will they be able to put their love for the game aside and really see if this attraction is worth it or will they be too stubborn to see what is really worth [...]

    10. 3.5 - A big thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for letting me read this ARC. So, I'm really glad I stuck this one out. In the beginning I was just not gelling with these characters and was ready to mark it DNF but I refused to DNF my first book of 2018 and I'm jazzed that I kept on. You get to genuinely see these characters grow. If you want to read about a badass heroine who breaks stereotypes and exceeds expectations - check this one out.Though, one thing I cannot le [...]

    11. If you like sports books, books about really strong, likeable female characters, sexy love stories, or enemies-to-lover stories, you will LOVE this book. I had so much fun reading it! The characters are genuinely charming and believable, and I love the way it examines WHY we hate people and whether or not our hate is born of circumstances. Not too heavy, but not at all cheesy. This was a truly wonderful novel. And come on, there's a dugout make-out scene. Um, yes please!

    12. I was able to read an uncorrected digital copy from Net Galley so I won't say much as it does not publish until May, but I do like the way the females are portrayed in this teen, summer, romance read.

    13. A delightful baseball read! Loved the chemistry between Jamie and eve. Loved the premise of the story being a merger of two rival teams. I liked how both were super competitive and the authors use of that to build the chemistry. The language was a bit strong for my liking. Overall , a good YA read about learning to trust someone other than yourself.
