    1. My reviews can also be seen at: deesradreadsandreviews.wordpr4.5 Stars!!After enjoying quite a few of Chris Bohjalian’s previous novels, I was quite excited to have the opportunity to read his upcoming novel, “The Flight Attendant”.I thought this was a fantastic read!Flight Attendant, Cassandra (Cassie) Bowden wakes up in a hotel room in Dubai. The first thing she realizes is that she’s not in her hotel room and the second thing she realizes is that she’s not alone. There is a man slee [...]

    2. FIVE STARSYES YES YES!! Last page turned. Heart beating fast. Mic drop. Cue the slow clap. This is a phenomenal character-driven mystery WITH A TWISTY, SATISFYING ENDING I will not soon forget.I don’t know who said “the devil is in the details” but if that’s true, then Chris Bohjalian is the devil himself. This plot is intricate and complex with well-researched details and data providing clues for the reader in this story of international suspense. Yes, much of the story is set in cushy [...]

    3. Cassie is a flight attendant living the high life. She’s drinking way too much, punctuated by emotionless nights in beds of total strangers during her layovers. She knows full well this behavior needs to stopy she can’t. During a stop-over in Dubai and a long night of heavy partying, Cassie wakes up with the worst hangover ever. Trying to slip out of bed silently, she notices the man lying next to her. And he’s quite dead. Her memory is spotty at best of the previous night, right before sh [...]

    4. 3.5 starsI was really digging this, but the ending brought it down a notch. Slow burn read about a self destructive flight attendant who awakens to discover her one night stand dead beside her. Cassie became a flight attendant to run away from her past. She exists on alcohol, drunken exploits, and one night stands. After traveling on a flight to Dubai, she sleeps with passenger, Alex Sokolov. Barely remembering what happened between her and Sokolov due to a night of excessive drinking, Cassie aw [...]

    5. Cassie Bowden, a flight attendant/party girl who boasts of her partying ways and many one-night stands. A hotel room in Dubai.A murder.A memorable night for Cassie OR NOT she doesn't really remember much considering she was so drunk that she blacked out! Told from Cassie and Miranda's POV we get to hear their thought processes as they ponder the details involved in the night of the murder and what went wrong! The author's skill in character building was perfect - creating unique characters with [...]

    6. This novel starts off starts off at a breathless pace and rarely lets up. It ends with a taut, exciting finale as well.Cassie Bowden is a flight attendant who doesn’t believe in moderation when it comes to alcohol and sex. When she wakes up in a hotel room in Dubai with a pounding headache and only some memories of the night before, she discovers the man she’d been flirting with on the flight over is dead beside her in bed. Blood is everywhere. She’s pretty sure she didn’t kill him. Why [...]

    7. Regular readers of Chris Bohjalian have learned by now that you never know what you're going to get when you open one of his novels. Every single one is different. Because some of the enjoyment of Bohjalian comes with the surprise factor, I won't go into heavy detail about The Flight Attendant except to say that this book is more about the female lead character: Cassie than it is the overall plot line. Don't get me wrong, there is an intricate storyline to follow - one that is at once full of co [...]

    8. You can also read my review on WP: anisabookreviews.wordpress/2017/0This novel is a complex international thriller. Suspenseful and intelligent!"I awoke beside a dead man. I may have gotten away with murder." It is not the first time Cassie has blacked out after a night of untamed drinking. Cassie wakes up in a dense fog. This place is not her hotel. She is in someone's room in another hotel. And she is in the wrong place at the wrong time.Brace for Impact.Cassie, a flight attendant, has just di [...]

    9. Chris Bohjalian has done it again!Readers of his work, by now, should just come to expect a literary surprise each time they open his newest book! The Flight Attendant is no exception. What begins as a somewhat slow burning, character driven mystery soon escalates into an international espionage thriller. It happened so quickly I nearly wasn't aware of it. Granted, Cassie, the flight attendant, is a train wreck waiting to happen. To say she is an alcoholic is like saying the Vatican is a small c [...]

    10. Genre: General FictionTone: Sad and at times depressing This was a sobering story about a woman whose childhood shaped her into a binge-drinking and self-destructing addict. Cassie was in denial about how dependent she was on alcohol and shied away from the idea that she'd become just like her alcoholic father for a good chunk of this book. While she was an avid animal lover (volunteered regularly at the animal shelter) and still managed to function enough at work to maintain a good employment s [...]

    11. Cassandra "Cassie" Bowden is a flight attendant and alcoholic. She binge drinks and is no stranger to black outs and one night stands. On a flight into Dubai she flirts with a man in the first class cabin and ends up spending the night with him. When she wakes up the next morning, she needs to remember where she is and hopes to slip quietly out of bed when she discovers the blood. A lot of blood, and quickly determines that the man she spent the night with is dead. Has she killed him? She doesn' [...]

    12. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5My reviews and (maybe) some other random thoughts can also be seen at readingbetweenwinessite.wordp____________________________________________________________This was my first novel by Chris Bohjalian and I have very mixed feelings about it.You could definitely tell that Bohjalian did his research for this book. For the cities, the details, the flight attendants, the laws talked about, everything. I thought The Flight Attendant was incredibly detailed, and I really enjoyed [...]

    13. The Flight Attendant by Chris BohjalianBook Review:  3 out of 5 star ratingCassie Bowden is a bit of a mess.  Like her father, she drinks too much.  She drinks so much, she actually blacks out and doesn’t remember much of the night before on those mornings when she wakes up with a hangover.  But one morning is a bit different.  She wakes up next to a man who has had his throat slit.  Should she call the police or will she be blamed?  Should she be blamed?  Did the guy attack her the ni [...]

    14. Actual rating: 3.5 starsMuch to my embarrassment I have not heard of this author prior to my perusal of the Edelweiss catalog in a quest for a captivating ARC, although I later came to know that plenty of his books have been well-received both by the readers as well as the critics. Noticing the theme-anticipating title The Flight Attendant was sufficient to make me take the plunge and click the 'request' button, considering that I have been nurturing an interest in the mystery/thriller novels fo [...]

    15. Cassandra Bowen is a flight attendant with a history of bad decisions--most of them tied to her predilection to heavy drinking. Mostly her drinking leads to sexual encounters with dubious men, topless dancing, and a few bouts of blackouts. But when Cassie's work takes her to Dubai, she spends the night with a gentleman she met on the plane, drinking heavily with him all evening; in the morning she wakes up next to him in bed and finds him dead, covered in blood. Alone and female in Dubai, Cassie [...]

    16. It's all fun and games until someone gets their throat slashed Cassie Bowden is a flight attendant. Cassie Bowden is an alcoholic. Cassie Bowden is an utter mess. Cassie Bowden also just woke up in a hotel in Dubai next to a dead man with vague and twisty memories of the blackout-drunk night before. We all have that 'fight or flight' response, and Cassie chose the perfect career because her response is  flight, for sure.  You can judge her all you want for not calling the authorities, bu [...]

    17. The Flight AttendantChris BohjalianReceived from NetgalleyTHE FLIGHT ATTENDANT is the first book I've ever read by Chris Bohjalian but it certainly won't be the last! Once I started reading, the twists and turns kept on coming and I could not put it down. Cassandra Bowden is a flight attendant who lives a reckless life. She drinks way too much and winds up in stranger's hotel rooms. She wakes up one morning in Dubai, very hungover and not in her room. She tries to get out of bed without waking A [...]

    18. 4 STARSFirst, thank you to Netgalley, the Publisher: Double Day Books and the Author: Chris Bohjalian for the ARC of The Flight Attendant. This book was a different kind of thriller for me. I'd categorize it as a slow burner thriller which honestly was not a bad thing, just a different change of pace. Funnily enough, I started and ended reading this book on a flight myself! We start by meeting Cassie. She wakes up and realizes she's in another Man's room.n in another foreign country. She immediate [...]

    19. A riveting international murder mystery that kept my attention throughout. Cassie is the flight attendant and she is obviously an alcoholic in denial and a party girl who sleeps around quite a bit. She flirts with a guy on the plane to Dubai and then hooks up with him for the night. She drinks so much she blacks out. When she wakes up the guy beside her is dead and there is blood everywhere. Does she call the police? No! She cleans up and goes back to her hotel and boards her next flight. What h [...]

    20. Cassie Bowden is a flight attendant who makes the worst choices, pretty much all the time. She clearly has an alcohol problem, and this affects most of her life, including her job. After one fling, and a blackout, she wakes up in a Dubai hotel room next to a dead body. Even she doesn't know what happened. She continues to make poor choices, but she had a spark about her I liked. I thought the plot was a departure from the author's norm, but I enjoyed the international flair. There was a thriller [...]

    21. angelerin/2018/0Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free ebook copy of The Flight Attendant By: Chris Bohjalian in exchange for an honest review. Woo hoo!! Another hit from Chris Bohjalian! This is now the third book by this author that I have read and the third book of his that I have given five stars to. The Flight Attendant is so well written. I am in awe of the writing skills in this book. The plot is fast-paced, yet slow building at the same time. There are so many deta [...]

    22. I was a little hesitant to request this arc from Netgalley cause I thought the premise of the book was strange. I like Chris Bohjalian's books so I figured what's the harm, I am so glad that I had the opportunity to read this book.Cassie Bowden is not a particularly likable character, her life centers around drinking too much and getting laid. While she is able to hold on to her job, at just past 40, her life is slipping away from her. On a flight from New York to Dubai, she meets a younger busi [...]

    23. This is my first book by Chris Bohjalian, and now I understand why I keep seeing his name everywhere! A smart, tautly plotted thriller, featuring a protagonist who is deeply aware of her own flaws. Although this feels nothing like a traditional spy thriller, there is an intriguing spy thread running through it. I'll be reading more novels by Bohjalian. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a free ARC for an honest review.

    24. Genre: General Fiction (Adult)Publisher: DoubledayPub. Date: March 13, 2018Stars: doesn't not allow half stars. I feel this novel is really a three and a half.Possible Spoiler AlertThe author, Chris Bohjalian, is one of my all-time favorite authors. I believe he is today’s Hemingway, writing American literature with an emotional force. I first discovered Bohjalian when I read his 2010 book, “Midwives.” The setting for that book is rural Vermont, known as the Northeast Kingdom (NEK). Since [...]

    25. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTChris BohjalianMY RATING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️▫️PUBLISHER Doubleday BooksPUBLISHED March 13, 2018THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT is an intriguing and intense international thriller that will have you tightly buckling your seat belt. SUMMARYCassie Bowden, a veteran flight attendant from New York wakes up in a beautiful hotel room in Dubai, next to a dead man. Blood was everywhere around them, his jugular had been cut. With a piercing hangover caused by her incessant love for alco [...]

    26. The premise for this book sounded very exciting, a flight attendant waking up in a hotel room in Dubai next to a viciously murdered man. She is a binge drinker and passes out from over drinking often, she can’t remember what happened after she slept with the man. Unfortunately this book took until my Kindle location was at 70% to really get going.Cassie Bowden is a veteran flight attendant, approaching early middle age, who is unhappy with her life and the way she lives it. All she remembers i [...]

    27. "A smart girl is both sword and smile."Cassandra (Cassie) Bowden is, I hope, not the typical flight attendant. She's obviously an alcoholic and suffers the blackouts and embarassments to prove it. She loves flying to far-off destinations and always finds a way to party hard and often ends up hung over and suffering from drinker's regret the next day. But this time it's really a bad "morning after" when she awakens in a hotel bed (not her own) next to a dead man -- the man she'd dined and slept w [...]

    28. Bohjalian has clearly done his research on flight attendants. This element adds to the glamour and intrigue of this thriller about a flight attendant who wakes up to find her lover of the night before dead with a slashed throat. Caddie blacked out and can't remember what happened as she is an alcoholic. An unreliable yet interesting whirlwind of an unraveling of lies follows. The story is strong up until the end when things get a bit rushed and convoluted. The pace prior to the end is pretty ste [...]

    29. Two women, one American and the other Russian, are pitted against each other in what seems like an unfair duel. Cassie Bowden has no idea what's in store for her when, as a flight attendant overnighting in Dubai, she accepts dinner invitation from Alex, a Russian-American passenger on her flight, and ends up in his plush hotel room for the night.Things escalate when she wakes up in his bed in the morning, having blacked out after a night of heavy drinking and sleeping with Alex. Running for her [...]

    30. The Flight Attendant by Chris BohjalianMy Review: 4 starsFor more like this, visit goodbookfairyThe Flight Attendant is another unique thriller by Chris Bohjalian that sucked me right in from the start. This story was an exciting, yet slow-building burn. It emphasized characters in a way that the action of the plot seemed almost secondary. I was never on the edge of my seat, or lounge chair by the pool in this case, but by the end of the story, I was completely invested in this intricate mystery [...]
