    1. This is a vivid and well described guide to Buddhist visualisation and to the Buddha, Bodhisattva and Tantric deity figures. Vessantara provides lots of information about very complicated iconography without being dry and scholary. The book is actually very heartfelt and poetic. Fascinating stuff and a real eye opener for me when it comes to the dakinis and dharmapalas - I didn't know they were so formidable!I'm sure I'll come back to this again and again.
