    1. When we think of paranormal, we think of vampires, werewolves, witches, faeries, etc. What we don't think of is real life. That's because the world of the paranormal is, well, magical. It is escape at its finest. When readers open up a paranormal book, they expect it to do what other books might not: completely and utterly captivate us with tales that we wish could happen, or that we could personally experience. So while we might wish all these stories were real, we know deep down that they're n [...]

    2. Phoenix Rising by Jo Lynne Valerie is a perfect novella to warm your heart around Christmas time. Her descriptions of the snowy landscape reminded me of Christmas mornings at my grandmother's house. This story gives it all to you- heartbreak, romance- hope. (We all know what comes with the good stuff- love and soulmates!) Mushy, I know- but who doesn't want a good bit mush every now and then?Holly is our main character and she has had her heart broken- a dark past to say the least. She, an artist [...]

    3. This is a very sweet romance. While there are magical elements, it's not really a paranormal. The story is quite touching and the author certainly does have a evocative voice and a good sense of characters. There were a few editorial glitches that I noticed (little things, like one character getting ready for bed twice in one night) and there were times I wish the author hadn't foreshadowed the outcome *quite* so strongly, but I'm picky about that kind of stuff.More of a 3.5 star read for me, but [...]

    4. I wanted to share with all of you a wonderful Novella that I just finished reading, Phoenix Rising by Jo Lynne Valerie. It is available on .It is a tale of an artist, Holly, who while working on a project for an author, paints the leading man of the author's new book. What Holly does not realize at the time is that she just painted her soul mate, she meets him a few days later.Their love story is unique and full of excitement and amazing discovery. There are wonderful mystical powers at work her [...]

    5. WOW OMG This book gave me chills. I loved Holly's story. This was a real page turner. When Holly paints then meets David, I couldn't wait to find out why she painted someone she had never met. And when you find out can you say DESTINY?!?! It was so easy to fall in love with David and his son Joe. The two of them and Holly would make a great family and I kept wanting to know if they would as their trip to Albuquerque took a sudden bad turn. Will everything end up ok in the end? Will Holly ever mo [...]

    6. OH MY GODDESS!!! She has done it again. The additions to the story of Holly and David were phenomenal. In the stand alone version of Phoenix Rising (Originally appeared in A Tale for All Seasons) we learn even more about Holly, David, Joe and Megan. I can honestly say that this book runs the gambit of emotions, I really did, cry, laugh, scream in frustration, and in happiness to see the ending.JoLynne has truly done all she can to make Holly and David someone that we can ALL relate to.Thanks hun [...]
